Tip Top Media is a vibrant young company founded by media expert Colin Edwards, the business offers state-of-the-art solutions to companies looking for media storage. Clients of his include the media, solicitors, courts and data companies.
The 5,000ft humidity-controlled storage facility was the first to its kind to offer one-hour deliveries and same-day service. Colin’s knowledge, experience, combined with their unique logging system, means items can be found and be delivered to the client in no time. As he explained, “Time is money!”
Tip Top Media was thriving with a reliable team but Colin was looking to strengthen and grow his business. “We wanted the opportunity to finally put together a business plan,” said Colin, “I had the ideas, but needed to have the way forward put down on paper.” Colin was referred to Prevista whose services include free business support.
Gavin Bell, Prevista Associated Business Adviser gave free one-to-one advice on the steps Colin needed to take to get his business plan together. “I admit I was sceptical at first, but Gavin was flexible,” Colin said, “He made sure we clearly understood what was required, devoting hours of time talking us through the process.
He was able to gain an understanding of our business and what we wanted to achieve, getting my ideas down on paper and helping us to work towards a five year plan. “Never once was it a chore. I get bored easily, but it was always a pleasure meeting with Gavin. He was flexible around our needs, particularly our schedule – which was important.”
Colin has now finished his business plan, and feels he has a clearer idea of where his company is headed. “I would suggest everyone has a business plan they can refer to. Often people never get round to it. It’s a vital tool for you to use if you ever require a loan or need any form of funding.” “It’s also never too late to get one done. I thought everything was OK without it, but when you put pen to paper and make reference to figures, you can really see where you’re at.”
