Prevista’s Youth Engagement Fund (YEF) Project, funded by the Department for Work and Pensions, helps young people to improve their attitude, skills and behaviour and prepares them for progression into work or onto further skills development and education. As a managing agent we lead a supply chain of innovative grassroots delivery partners enabling us to refer young people to providers who are most suited to meet their needs.
Our delivery partner, Inspirational Youth, has years of experience working with Olympic athletes and corporate executives to improve their performance. With Prevista’s support they have brought their highly innovative model into the education space to improve the motivation and attitude of young people struggling in school. Their unique method uses game-based scenarios which engage young people and raise their self-awareness and resilience. The goal is improved behaviour and attitude to learning, meaning a more productive and successful school environment for both teachers and students.
Supported with funds from YEF, and contract managed by Prevista, Inspirational Youth were able to take their unique programme into the London Nautical School to support a cohort of year 10s and 11s who required support to re-engage with education in their crucial GCSE years.
Inspirational Youth has had an extremely positive impact on the cohort. London Nautical School’s Assistant Head of Sixth Form, Mr Philippe, has expressed his gratitude to the Inspirational Youth team:
“I would like to thank you for running the ‘Inspirational Youth’ mentoring programme with a group of Year 10 and 11 students at the London Nautical School. Your professionalism, commitment and dedication in helping these students to raise their standards of work, attendance, punctuality and life skills in general was really appreciated.
The weekly interventions, meetings and workshops you held with the students had a very positive impact on their confidence, attendance, relationships with peers and teachers as well as, for some them, their attainment.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude for helping and believing in our students by promoting values such as honesty, sincerity, hard work and trust.
You and your team, have helped them at a crucial moment of the academic year with a positive impact in raising their standards.
I hope we will have the opportunity to work again together in the future and I will recommend other schools and colleges to contract your service.”
