Sandra started her Apprenticeship journey with Prevista in 2016 when she started a Level 2 Cleaning and Support services qualification which she successfully completed. This was the catalyst she needed to progress her career, gaining her promotion to on-site team leader. She jumped at the chance to do a Team Leading Apprenticeship to help her gain the skills needed to be successful in her new responsibility. She also hoped that it would help her achieve her goal to one day become Supervisor although she currently lacked the confidence in her competency in this role.
Her tutor, Gayane, saw the potential in Sandra and made it her mission to support and develop her skills and competencies. She managed to get Sandra to open up about the difficulties and issues she was experiencing with her team. Gayane helped her to find solutions to her challenges and persuaded her to take action to resolve them. Over time, Sandra became more and more self-confident. In her most recent one-to-one she told Gayane that she now realises she had always been competent and capable, she just needed someone to help her find her confidence and self-belief.
Thanks to the tools and knowledge gained from her qualification, and Gayane’s ability to unlock her potential, Sandra has managed to establish better working relationships with her team. She is due to complete her qualification in a month and her employer has been so impressed with her progress that they have offered her the Cleaning Supervisor role.
