Suzanne McCarthy is a Customer Service Officer at Charlton Triangle Homes who are a local housing company for the Charlton area.
Suzanne began her learning journey with Prevista in 2012, undertaking a level 1 customer service QCF qualification. Upon achieving her level 1 award, she progressed to level 2 and completed this in 2014. With the level 2 qualification under her belt she then, with Prevista’s support, progressed to a full apprenticeship level 3 customer service qualification. During her journey, she has expanded her role, including taking responsibility for health and safety checks within the office.
One area Suzanne worked closely with her assessor on in 2015 was her functional skills maths level 2. Maths was an area Suzanne had been apprehensive about as it was a subject she did not enjoy at school. After a number of tailored 1-to-1 teaching sessions, Suzanne felt equipped to take her exam in October 2015 and passed comfortably. This was a seminal moment for Suzanne as maths moved from a subject she dreaded to one she now excels at.
Suzanne completed her level 3 apprenticeship in July 2016 and, in recognition of her amazing learning journey, Prevista offered to fund her enrolment on the nationally recognised CIEH level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace qualification. She took up the offer gratefully, completing her training and passing the Health and Safety exam in August 2016. Suzanne now has the additional knowledge, skills and a variety of qualifications to further expand her role and responsibilities in the years to come.
