Claire Brennan – David Andrews Construction

Claire Brennan found work with David Andrews Construction after being unemployed for over six months. Since contacting Prevista, she has now secured a permanent contract with this successful and established company and is enjoying working life while gaining invaluable office experience.

Claire found work through a Prevista programme designed to get young people into employment known as the Future Jobs Fund. Claire welcomed the friendly help offered by Prevista, initially meeting with Prevista Adviser Nick Phillips. With an interest in construction and with the view to study Electrical Installations at University, David Andrews Construction was a perfect fit.

Claire demonstrated her commitment and eagerness to learn and began to excel in the areas of personnel and finance. After 6 months working for the company, Claire had proved herself enough to convince her employers to hire her full time and give her more and more responsibility. Starting as an Office Assistant with basic filing duties and assisting with calendar management, she soon became a key figure in the set up of the office, working on payroll and ensuring everyone got the correct wages on time.

When asked to describe her experience dealing with Prevista, Claire stated that

“Prevista really helped me get a job that has given me confidence and vital experience. I am working in a fun office with great banter. The process was simple and I would recommend it to anyone in a similar position as myself.”
