TAG does exactly what it says on the tin! Disadvantaged young people aged 18 – 24, including those who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), have their lives transformed by participating in a number of positive pathway activities, whether a formal recognised qualification or work experience or moving into a rewarding career. By providing a mentor and focusing on both technical and soft skills, the young person’s aspirations and motivations are increased.
TAG specialise in supporting employers within the leisure and fitness industry (including major private health and fitness health clubs such as Fitness First, LA Fitness, DC Leisure), by equipping young people with the right skills to secure work within this sector. By knowing what skills the company wants, TAG provides tailored training to the young people, ensuring there is a suitable match between the right candidate and the right job. By specialising in the fitness industry they are also meeting the government’s health agenda. (The latest Health Survey for England (HSE) data shows us that nearly 1 in 4 adults, and over 1 in 10 children aged 2-10, are obese.)
But what about partnership working?
TAG partners with other providers to bid for larger contracts, with Prevista assisting in developing delivery models and forming the consortia as seen in the ESF Stellar project, a two and a half year contract which TAG is a delivery partner, targeting NEETS across London, supporting them into further learning or sustainable employment.
