JOB PURPOSE:  

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate learner focused Apprenticeship Tutor to join our existing team of Tutors to deliver high quality, supportive and engaging qualifications to candidates enrolled onto funded apprenticeship programmes.

The position holder will engage and support a caseload of up to 40 learners to achieve qualifications in a timely manner by providing meaningful teaching/learning and assessment sessions, conducting regular formal progress reviews and following the delivery guideline.

 

The position holder will be delivering Functional Skills as part of the overall apprenticeship framework or an approved apprenticeship Standard within agreed timeline. It is also required that the position holder will have good understanding/experience in conducting initial assessments, embedding Functional Skills, British Values, elements of Safeguarding and equality and diversity into teaching sessions including conducting final exams/tests.

JOB ROLE

  1. Demonstrate competence through qualifications and experience across the full suite of qualifications to be delivered.
  2. Manage own caseload effectively using e-portfolio to progress learners effectively from start to timely completion.
  3. Have an excellent knowledge of apprenticeships Standards as well as frameworks
  4. Deliver new apprenticeship Standards following to the approved assessment plan and ensuring preparation of learners for final end point assessment.
  5. Ability to design learning and assessment activities that meet the outcomes for apprenticeships Standards and job roles in your sector/s
  6. Travel to various learner placements within London and occasionally where required outside of London.
  7. Support both levy and non-levy funded learners on apprenticeship programmes
  8. Respond to learner and employer queries in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring regular contact is maintained for the full duration of the learner journey and qualification.
  9. Where not provided, carry out a thorough induction and robust initial assessment and diagnostic process, establishing the correct level and qualification a learner should be undertaking.
  10. Ensure the Individual Learning Plan is maintained and updated regularly.
  11. Follow TAQA and QCF code of practice to ensure a quality learner journey is made available to all learners.
  12. Follow guidance with regards to teaching and assessment practice and the completion of paperwork, ensuring the relevant compliant documentation is used.
  13. Undertake regular CPD training as agreed by the Team Manager and IQA
  14. Be responsible for own professional development to maintain competency in your sector
  15. Attend regular standardisation/team meetings to ensure consistency with other assessors and Internal Verifiers.
  16. Respond to feedback in a timely and professional manner.
  17. Ensuring learners are supported according to their specific needs,
  18. Use technology to teach and fully engage with learners – online tools, interactive sessions, webinars, remote learning.
  19. Ensure that anyone else involved in the assessment process gives their consent, especially where this may mean intrusion into areas of privacy and confidentiality.
  20. Promote apprenticeships during the course of your engagement with learners and employers
  21. Follow and act on any guidance given by the Team Manager
  22. Update the Team Manager on a weekly or monthly basis with individual learner’s progress.
  23. Ensure that learners are fully aware of current legislation relating to them and their assessment including maintaining compliance with ‘Safe Learner’ requirements.

CANDIDATE SKILLS

CANDIDATE SKILLS:

  1. 2-year minimum experience of Apprenticeship and Functional Skills led training programmes – essential
  2. Relevant QCF Assessor and Verifier qualifications – e.g., D32/A1 Assessor – essential
  3. D34/V1 Internal Verifiers/Internal Quality Assurer – desirable
  4. Hold/Working towards an IAG qualification – essential
  5. Experience of using e-portfolios and good IT skills – essential
  6. Good organisational skills – essential
  7. Managing day to day relationship with learners – essential
  8. Provide Weekly/monthly reports as required for timely completion of learners – essential
  9. Co-coordinating the recruitment of learners with Business Relationship Managers and other employer engagement functions in the business – essential
  10. Excellent attention to detail – essential
