Prevista, in partnership with Youth At Risk, has created an opportunity for young Londoners (aged 15-18) who are experiencing disadvantage, isolation and disconnection to fulfil their potential via an initiative called The Youth Congress.
The Youth Congress is designed to build young people’s confidence, develop their skills and enhance their employment and education prospects.
The first phase of the programme involves young people working on project proposals and presentations from briefs developed by our corporate partners.
Ideas in development include:
*Organising networking events for women from deprived and marginalised communities who would like to set up their own business
*Social media campaign designed by young people for young people to promote local regeneration initiatives
*Production of a short film to raise awareness of solutions posed by young people to overcome the key challenges they face in their daily lives.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to mentor the young people throughout the process.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to receive training in Mentoring and Life Coaching from Youth at Risk’s highly experienced operations team.
Volunteering will take place evenings and weekends throughout April, May and June and we are looking for a commitment of 1-2 hours a week.
