Consultancy >> Quality & Ethical Assurance

Prevista has a specific quality assurance procedure for research and evaluation work.

This procedure is informed by our ISO 9001 standards particularly around ensuring a factual approach to decision making, provision for complaints and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

Prevista always selects the most appropriate team for an assignment based on the skills required. When undertaking telephone interviews for a survey, for example, we can draw on our research assistants. Each team member is briefed appropriately concerning the aims and objectives of a project.  Specific briefing materials are produced for individual research activities such as telephone interviews for a survey.

The main criteria outlined in our ethical code for research and evaluation practice are:

  • Securing consent from participants in research and evaluation work - the principle of informed consent.
  • Making provision to deal with complaints effectively
  • Acknowledging secondary sources in our work and gaining permission for the use of patents and copyrights
  • Ensuring that the results of our research work (including consultations and surveys) are fed back to participants, thanking them for their input and identifying how their support has effected change
  • Ensuring all staff are appropriately screened for working with vulnerable adults and children – CRB checking.
  • Ensuring that data is non attributable where appropriate
  • Ensuring that our sampling methodology is sufficiently representative and is weighted accordingly to ensure that our work reflects the diversity of those we work with
  • Ensuring that our interpretation methodology includes provision for the effective interpretation of data from diverse groups, communities and people
  • Ensuring that our methods and work is environmentally sustainable using ICT as appropriate
  • Ensure our staff receive continuous professional development that is tailored as appropriate to the needs of each unique assignment.
