Prevista support IYS to break into Apprenticeship market

Prevista take great pride in supporting our partners to achieve new feats that enable learners to gain the best possible educational teaching and support; where there is a need, Prevista will find a solution!

Take the case of Improve Your Skills, a fledgling apprenticeship provider who Prevista helped take the first steps onto the apprenticeship delivery ladder. The partnership was sealed in March 2015 and the journey has been a real success story for all concerned.

After learning the apprenticeship delivery model, IYS found themselves in a tricky position after their sole assessor left for pastures new. Prevista stepped in and helped IYS to maintain their path of progression.

In November 2015, External Partner Apprentice Manager Simon Tate, a seasoned assessor, and Quality Manager Karly Lattimore, an all things quality all-rounder, offered a unique solution. IYS brought in a budding new assessor candidate, Lynne Myers, and Prevista provided a completely free ‘mentor, counter assessor, internal verification’ package, which enabled Lynne to learn the assessor trade and build on her natural aptitude for upskilling learners and really making a difference.

In March 2016, Lynne achieved her status as a TAQA qualified assessor and continues to provide excellent teaching learning and assessment to her learners – now without the need for support. One thing we forgot to mention – we provided the same service to IYS’ company MD, Jason Perry, who graduated the same month as Lynne!

IYS now has the capacity to expand as an apprenticeship provider and, along with a new cohort of learners, they have brought in an IV candidate, Tracy Taylor. How is Tracy going to achieve her full IQA qualification? You may have guessed; Simon Tate and Karly Lattimore are mentoring and supporting again.
