HORIZON ECO AND WASTE MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS

When Kotatee Seyboe found himself unemployed and claiming Jobseekers Allowance he decided to build on his past experience in the recycling industry by setting up a waste management company. His Jobcentre Plus Adviser referred him to the Prevista New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) scheme where he could receive specialist business advice and support to turn his plans into a profitable start-up business.

Kotatee was paired up with one of Prevista’s Business Advisers, Tariq Shabeer who recalls:

“In comparison to many of my clients, Kotatee’s plans were well advanced. He knew the industry well and already had the basis of an excellent business plan. However, he was likely to be refused the NEA funding he required to purchase a vehicle, because he was struggling to match his financial forecasts to his plans”.

Tariq worked closely with Kotatee to fine-tune his forecasts and provided him with one-to-one tutorials on financial modelling, cashflow and accounting. As a result of the modified business plan Kotatee’s application for a £2,500 NEA loan was accepted.

Kotatee recalls: “I was ecstatic when I received the loan. Everything else was in place and I was able to set up my business immediately. I am so grateful to Tariq and Prevista for helping to make this happen”.

Since starting up in July 2014, Horizon Eco and Waste Management Solutions Ltd has gone from strength to strength. The business offers home / office clearance & cleaning services and waste sorting in order to recycle as much as possible and reduce disposal costs. Kotatee has already secured a number of contracts in and around the Hounslow area and is looking forward to expanding to neighbouring boroughs.
