MORIAM

Moriam had no formal qualifications when she arrived at Prevista, but was especially keen to undertake training and learning which would improve her health and safety skills.

Working with Prevista’s assessor, Sebastian Chambers, Moriam worked towards and completed a Cleaning and support services Level 2 apprenticeship and learn more current cleaning procedures and techniques.

An initial assessment review of skills revealed that initially Moriam lacked confidence when communicating with staff members. She also lacked confidence to completing work with a computer. In response to these challenges Sebastian dedicated additional time to teach Moriam the basics of using a computer on a 1:1 basis, logging onto her Onefile account and supporting her to complete her own research. Through Sebastian keeping in regular, formal contact with her employer, Moriam received extensive wraparound support throughout her journey which enabled her to successfully complete her Apprenticeship. Moriam now has the confidence to demonstrate current cleaning techniques and procedures to her colleagues and her improved ICT skills has enabled her to use her computer at work to complete personal tasks.
