NAOMI

Naomi, a level 2 Childcare learner, is part way through her course with 4 months left to complete. She has been very nervous about her ability to pass her level 2 because English is her second language and her ICT skills are a struggle. This is made even more difficult by the fact that she has no access to a computer to improve them.

Her Prevista assessor, Manuela, has spent extra time with her over the last few months preparing her to sit her English reading exam. Despite this, Naomi was still very nervous about finishing all the questions within the allotted time. She was so certain of her failure that she even asked Manuela how many times she is allowed to re-sit the test.

On the day of the exam, following a restless night’s sleep, she was very nervous. She completed all questions apart from one but left the exam feeling unsure whether she had passed; she was already trying to schedule in her next re-sit.

One (very long) week later we received the results of her English reading exam and Manuela had the great pleasure of telling Naomi that she had passed first time! She was so happy hearing this and it gave her the confidence boost she needed to book in the next exams straight away (English writing and Maths).

We wish Naomi good luck in completing the final few months of her Childcare course.
