Kamil was unemployed and out of education at the start of this qualification. He had some work experience within the local NHS Trust and had enjoyed this. He had no formal qualifications, or GCSEs in Maths.

Kamil said he initially lacked confidence at the start, both with communication and skills to help him to gain employment

What interventions and actions did the project undertake with kamil?

Through regular teaching session for the units of the qualification, progress reviews and one to one support via phone and Zoom (due to Covid-19), Kamil worked with his tutor to ask questions and gain support to fully understand what the qualification is aimed at achieving for him.

Prevista obtained a work placement for Kamil, where he went through an interview process, following him completing units for interview preparation, where Kamil thrived and received excellent feedback from the employer.

WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME AND IMPACT OF THE ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN?

Kamil says he has gained confidence from undertaking the course and completing his work placement.

He has appreciated the support from his tutor and showed progression from the start of the course. He now speaks more clearly and confidently, is able to take part and interact much more in Zoom sessions and with groups as well as with individuals

He has gained the ability to be more autonomous and secure an apprenticeship for himself.

WHERE IS KAMIL NOW AND WHAT ARE HIS FUTURE PLANS?

Kamil has secured an Apprenticeship with his local NHS Trust for Business Administration and is looking to gain full employment following completion of the Apprenticeship.

Kamil is starting to do his GCSE in Maths. He is continuing to work with the employer for which he did his work placement as well as going to college part time.
