Success Story - Musa

Musa
Traineeship to include L2 Certificate in Digital Promotion for Business

BEFORE THE PROGRAMME

Musa joined the programme having been home-schooled and without any GCSE’s. He had hoped to join his father in a family business, but 'Lockdown' had impacted the business and so Musa had to look for employment. He had tried applying for jobs in digital marketing but without qualifications he was finding it difficult to get an interview.

He joined feeling quite nervous of meeting new people which was something that he was not particularly used to. He would typically keep himself to himself.

What interventions and actions did PREVISTA undertake with MUSA?

On his first day of class, he and his peers introduced themselves, and Musa was one of the first to actually put the camera on. By the end of the day Musa was participating in group discussions and quite happy to take the lead.

WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME AND IMPACT OF THE ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN?

By the time Musa had finished programme he said he was sad to be leaving, and some of his peers had become new friends, who he was in regular contact with outside the classroom.

Musa said he’s grown in confidence and developed his communication skills because of the programme. The programme has also given Musa the opportunity to get other qualifications, including Functional Skills in English and Maths.

The company who hosted Musa's work placement said in their feedback that “Musa learned a lot during his time with us. Though Musa is naturally quiet, we saw him become more vocal and confident throughout his placement which was really great to see. He was a positive member of his placement group and has actually just accepted a permanent role with us.”

WHERE IS MUSA NOW AND WHAT ARE HIS FUTURE PLANS?

Musa was the first of the trainees to get a job with his placement employer as an Associate Trader and it’s going well. To get the job Musa had to attend an assessment day as well as submitting a piece of work on Digital Marketing.

“I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I joined the course, but it has been really good.”
