Chitra Rajaganesh

Chitra Rajaganesh started her Early Years Educator Level 3 qualification with training with Smart Training shortly after joining her new workplace; Educational World Limited, as an assistant. At first, she did not have key children because her English was very broken as it was her second language, and she didn’t have enough experience or confidence to fulfill the daily duties of a key worker.

During Chitra’s first few lessons with her tutor – Ingrid Curuvija and class, she would be reticent and spend the majority of the study day writing as she lacked the confidence to speak up during class. However, through class activities, feedback, and one to ones, Chitra soon developed confidence and started to ask questions and to share the experiences she was having in her workplace. She began to answer other learners’ questions, and her knowledge and confidence showed in her workplace too.

Soon after, she was given a full-time position and key children. Her manager was still concerned about her English writing abilities as she struggled to compose sentences. Her tutor gave her weekly support and mock tests, and soon enough, she was ready for her tests.

Chitra passed all of her functional skills- Maths, English, and ICT at level 2 and achieved her level 3 apprenticeship. Chitra expressed how happy she was when her tutor informed her of her achievements. She said, ‘It’s my pleasure to thank my lovely tutor and smart training for my success in achieving my qualifications. I find the study days are beneficial to support me to do the coursework. I’m thinking of doing more courses as well. Once again, thanks indeed for your help to finish my course.’
